Have your jewelry appraised - the STEPS

1) Make a first appointment with Adeline

By phone at 06.66.77.57.24 to arrange an appointment at the workshop-boutique at 15, rue du rempart in Saintes.

FOR YOUR JEWELRY

2) How much does an appraisal for your jewelry cost?

The cost of an estimate decreases depending on the number of pieces of jewelry:

- For 1 piece of jewelry to be appraised: Expect to pay 75 euros with an appraisal certificate. Please note that the price varies depending on the piece of jewelry and the stones present in it. Some pieces of jewelry require a longer and more expensive appraisal. This is why an initial appointment will be necessary for the estimate.

- Between 2 and 5 pieces of jewelry to be appraised: count 35 euros per piece of jewelry with an appraisal certificate.

- Between 5 and 10 pieces of jewelry to be appraised: count 30 euros per piece of jewelry with an appraisal certificate.

- For more than 10 pieces of jewelry to be appraised: count 20 euros per piece of jewelry with an appraisal certificate.

FOR YOUR DIAMONDS

3) Estimate your diamonds - the process:

Diamond expertise protects against undervalued sales.

It provides its description and value, protecting against financial loss. It also helps with sharing and fair transmission during an inheritance.

Written diamond expertise is chargeable:

- For a diamond between 0.50 and 1 carat: (from 75 euros) or on estimate because some need to be unset to be graded correctly.

- For stones that are mounted and not unmounted, an appointment will be necessary beforehand in order to know if I can still carry out my authentication (This is possible provided that the stones are not mounted in closed settings or mass settings)

- For very small stones present on a piece of jewelry, a quote will be necessary at the first appointment.

- For jewelry professionals: on quote.

Please note: To properly appraise a stone, it must be unset by a professional to preserve it and access the stone's culet for appraisal. We provide unsettling when necessary, but this comes at a cost, which varies depending on the quality and size of the stones.

The estimate of a diamond is given following a precise and rigorous expertise in order to establish 1/ its purity, 2/ its color, 3/ its weight, 4/ its size 5/ the presence or absence of fluorescence.

These elements can only be estimated accurately if the stone or stones are unset. However, an initial appointment with Adeline will be useful to determine whether unsetting is necessary or not.

FOR YOUR COLORED STONES

4) Estimation and authentication of colored stones:

The cost of stone authentication decreases depending on the number of stones to be checked:

- Between 1 and 5 stones to be authenticated: Expect to pay 30 euros per stone with an appraisal certificate. Please note that the price varies depending on the stone. Some stones may need to be sent to a laboratory. This is why an initial appointment will be necessary to validate the estimate.

- Between 5 and 10 stones to be authenticated: count 25 euros per stone with an appraisal certificate.

- For more than 10 stones to be authenticated: count 20 euros per stone with an appraisal certificate.

- For more than 20 stones to be authenticated: count 15 euros per stone with an appraisal certificate.

- For jewelry professionals: on quote.

- For stones that are mounted and not unmounted, an appointment will be necessary to know if I can still carry out my authentication (This is possible provided that the stones are not mounted in a closed setting or a mass setting)

- For very small stones present on a piece of jewelry, a quote will be necessary at the first appointment.

Please note: To properly appraise a stone, it must be unset by a professional to preserve it and access the stone's culet for appraisal. We provide unsettling when necessary, but this comes at a cost, which varies depending on the quality and size of the stones.

CERTIFICATE OF VALUATION

5) Certificate of valuation - its value for insurance companies:

A certificate of appraisal is an official document written by a qualified gemologist. It details the precise characteristics of a gemstone or piece of jewelry (weight, clarity, color, cut, provenance) and establishes its current market value.

For insurance purposes, this certificate is essential: it serves as a reference in the event of loss, theft, or damage. A professional appraisal guarantees fair compensation based on the jewelry's true value. It is recommended to update this certificate regularly to reflect fluctuations in the gemstone and precious metal market.

Thus, the valuation certificate is not only a valuable document, but a real guarantee of security and transparency for owners and insurers.
